I need a bigger supply closet

I hate that my family has a hotel business. It all started with my great grandfather. He bought a local business and made it into a hotel. So now, every single person in my family is in the hotel business. I have cleaned rooms, tended bar and managed the front desk. I hate running the hotel because it is a lot of work. For one, the customers complain about everything. The main complaint is about our cooling systems. I will admit, our air conditioning systems are not the best. They are the same units my great grandfather installed. The AC units are old, dirty, and outdated. Air conditioning is expensive though. I don’t want to blow my whole budget upgrading the cooling systems. The bedspreads are gross, so are the carpets. I also was hoping to get a better sound system for the bar. Those investments I feel are better. But I might have to upgrade the cooling systems because of the constant whining of the customers. I don’t even know where to start with air conditioning though. I know I should probably call an air conditioning business for advice. I know they are going to hose me though. They will sniff out that I know nothing about air conditioning and overcharge me. I am not looking forward to this and I am trying to prolong this purchase as long as possible. I really should think about a new job. I should pass down the hotel torch and get involved with something that does not involve people.

HVAC maintenance plan

There’s many sources here

My spouse and I bought an older home a few years back.  The two of us fell in care about with the hardwood floors, immense windows, and wide front porch.  The two of us soon realized the disadvantages of an ancient house. The high ceilings, lack of insulation, and leaky windows create issues with heating and cooling.  The heating system and undefined seemed to run non stop, and our energy costs were excessive. The two of us were convinced that the majority of our heated and cooled air was escaping right outside.  The two of us started by replacing all of the windows in the home. This project was seriously extravagant and only slightly improved comfort. The two of us still lived with warm and freezing spots in the many room.  Despite turning up the temperature control in the Winter season, the heating system simply couldn’t keep up with demand. In the summer season, the home was often overheated and sticky. The two of us consistently struggled with condensation running down the windows and mold and mildew growth.  The two of us finally consulted with an Heating and A/C company, thinking all of us needed to replace the heating and cooling units. He told us that the heating system and undefined were still in good shape. The concern was insufficient insulation in the walls, ceilings and crawl space, and since all of us were unwilling to tear down walls to put in insulation, all of us weren’t sure how to solve this problem.  The two of us then l acquired about the benefits of blown-in insulation. There is no mess or disruption to the home. Small pieces of insulation are literally blown into the walls. Because these pieces fill into uncommon shaped pockets and conform to pipes, the insulation effectively seals up the home. The two of us noticed an immediate difference in noise passing through the walls, and every room was far more comfortable.  The savings on our weekly energy bills paid for the service.

My parents are good people

My spouse and I purchased an older house a few years back.  Both of us fell in adore with the hardwood floors, big windows, and wide front porch.  Both of us soon realized the drawbacks of an aged house. This project was drastically lavish and only slightly improved comfort. Both of us still lived with tepid and frosty spots in the numerous room.  Despite turning up the thermostat in the winter, the furnace simply couldn’t keep up with demand. In the summer, the current home was often overheated and sticky. Both of us always struggled with condensation running down the windows and mold and mildew growth.  Both of us finally consulted with an HVAC corporation, thinking every one of us needed to replace the heating and cooling units. He told us that the furnace and a/c were still in superb shape. The problem was insufficient insulation in the walls, ceilings and crawl space! Our humidifier does a lot

My husband and I purchased an older home a few years back.  All of us fell in love with the hardwood floors, big windows, and wide front porch.  All of us soon realized the downsides of an seasoned house. The high ceilings, lack of insulation, and leaky windows create problems with heating and cooling.  The oil furnace and air conditioner seemed to run non stop, and our energy bills were excessive. Our air quality is a concern

My husband and I purchased an older home a few years back.  We fell in love with the hardwood floors, big windows, and wide front porch.  We soon realized the drawbacks of an ancient house. The high ceilings, lack of insulation, and leaky windows create issues with heating and cooling.  The furnace and air conditioner seemed to run non stop, and our monthly bills were excessive. We were convinced that the majority of our heated and cooled air was escaping right outside.  We started by replacing all of the windows in the home. This project was extremely expensive and only slightly improved comfort. We still lived with hot and cold spots in the various room.  Despite turning up the thermostat in the winter, the furnace simply couldn’t keep up with demand. In the summer, the house was often overheated and sticky. We constantly struggled with condensation running down the windows and mold and mildew growth.  We finally consulted with an HVAC contractor, thinking we needed to replace the heating and cooling units. He told us that the furnace and air conditioner were still in good shape. The problem was insufficient insulation in the walls, ceilings and crawl space. Since we were unwilling to tear down walls to put in insulation, we weren’t sure how to solve this problem.  We then learned about the benefits of blown-in insulation. There is no mess or disruption to the home. Small pieces of insulation are literally blown into the walls. Because these pieces fill into odd shaped pockets and conform to pipes, the insulation effectively seals up the home. We noticed an immediate difference in noise passing through the walls, and every room was far more comfortable.  The savings on our monthly energy bills paid for the service.

The energy loss is a problem

About two years ago, my husband and I moved across the country because of a job promotion.  We had lived our whole lives in an area with very hot and humid weather. Our former home was only equipped with a central cooling system.  While we relied heavily on our air conditioner and dehumidifier, we never needed any type of heating system. When we moved to the northeastern part of the country, the weather was a huge shock to us.  Although we had read up on what to expect from this area, we were still unprepared for temperatures well below zero. We had never experienced snow, and were completely shocked when it piled up in six-foot drifts.  We soon learned that it is impossible to dress warm enough to withstand the wind chill, and our furnace became our priority. We needed to do some research to figure out how to take proper care of the furnace. Since the heating system was required to run for about eight months straight, I knew it would need some type of professional maintenance.  We learned that replacing the air filter every month helps to keep the heating equipment clean and working at maximum capacity. Allowing the furnace to become clogged with dust and debris could lead to much longer running times, overheating and a crack in the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is the only thing that prevents combustion byproducts, such as carbon monoxide, from entering the home’s breathing air.  I am also rather terrified of the furnace starting on fire because of a malfunction. Shortly after making the move, my husband and I hired a local HVAC contractor to inspect the furnace. We wanted to be sure everything was running safely and properly. We also signed up for a maintenance program which includes annual troubleshooting, cleaning and tuning.

cooling

The cooling system is awesome

My boyfriend, Jim, just loves to go camping.  Whenever he gets some time off from work, he packs up a tent and sleeping bag and heads into the woods.  He is happy to cook over an open flame, bathe in a freezing cold lake, and sleep on the hard ground. He constantly tries to convince me to go along with him.  I have been reluctant. Modern conveniences are very important to me. I like having access to a coffee maker, microwave, television, and dishwasher. I don’t want to go without a hot shower, flushing toilet, and a comfortable bed.  A thermostat to control the temperature is essential to me. I am concerned about being at the mercy of the weather. We live in an area with very extreme and unpredictable weather patterns. In a single day, the temperature can fluctuate by twenty degrees, and the weather can switch from sunny and clear to torrential downpours.  I spend a sizeable amount of money to equip my home with a modern forced air furnace and central cooling system. I take a great deal of pleasure in maintaining the ideal temperature with a simple tap of a button. I was not happy about leaving my home empty while I slept in the woods, with the bugs, just hoping the weather would cooperate.  I finally agreed to give camping a try, and it did not go well. I am accustomed to keeping my windows closed, with either the heater or air conditioner running. When sleeping in a tent, there were bugs and strange noises and air contaminants everywhere.

There’s honestly no reason to worry

I live in an section with a wide fluctuation in weather conditions.  The Winter hot & cold temperatures are properly below freezing & often drop below zero.  In the summertime, the temperature climbs up into the nineties, with excessive humidity. The fall & Spring seasons are properly damp & freezing.  To prevent energy waste, it’s necessary to tighten up the condo & eliminate any leaks or cracks. I have gone around & caulked every window & weatherstripped every door.  I’ve added insulation to the walls & attic. I’ve done everything possible to keep our heated & cooled air from escaping outside. This also stops outside air from coming in.  While our efforts save myself and others money on our weekly energy costs, I’ve also eliminated ventilation. Unfortunately, this creates complications with indoor air quality.  The same stale & contaminated air is recirculated endlessly & breathed by leaseholders. Any dust, dander, pollen or humidity is trapped inside. Headaches, sleeplessness, sore throat, itchy eyes, coughing, & sneezing can all be blamed on a lack of satisfactory ventilation.  To combat these concerns, I’ve installed a heat recovery ventilator. It’s appreciate opening a window without any of the energy waste. Because the ventilation plan uses the stale outgoing air to preheat the incoming air, it lessens the workload of the oil furnace. Plus, the ventilator helps to expel excess humidity while in the summertime weeks, reducing demand on the A/C.  My condo is cleaner, fresher, healthier & far more comfortable.

We have big problems here

I live in an part with a wide fluctuation in weather conditions.  The Wintertide temperatures are officially below freezing & often drop below zero.  In the summer, the temperature climbs up into the nineties, with excessive humidity.  The fall & Spring seasons are officially damp & cold. To prevent energy waste, it’s necessary to tighten up the beach apartment & eliminate any leaks or cracks.  I have gone around & caulked every window & weatherstripped every door. I’ve added insulation to the walls & attic. I’ve done everything possible to keep my heated & cooled air from escaping outside.  This also stops outside air from coming in. While my efforts save myself and others cash on my weekly weekly bills, I’ve also eliminated ventilation. Unfortunately, this creates concerns with indoor air pollen levels.  The same stale & contaminated air is recirculated endlessly & breathed by leaseholders. Any dust, dander, pollen or humidity is trapped inside. Headaches, sleeplessness, sore throat, itchy eyes, coughing, & sneezing can all be blamed on a lack of acceptable ventilation.  To combat these concerns, I’ve installed a heat reusey ventilator. It’s love opening a window without any of the energy waste. Because the ventilation plan uses the stale outgoing air to preheat the incoming air, it lessens the workload of the gas furnace. Plus, the ventilator helps to expel excess humidity while in the Summer weeks, reducing demand on the air conditioning system.  My apartment is cleaner, fresher, healthier & far more comfortable.
