My wife and I raised four amazing kids together, and all of them knew exactly what they wanted to do after they were finished with high school and college. All of them except for my youngest son Alex. What is most surprising is that Alex is most likely the smartest and most creative out of all of my kids, but he lacks a sense of direction and focus. After he graduated high school, all he wanted to do was read books and work out. My wife and I were both a bit stressed out that he would end up wasting all of his natural talent, so we convinced him to attend a job fair down at the town square on the weekend. He eventually ended up agreeing to go, and that was the best choice I think that he has ever made. He ended up walking by an HVAC heating and cooling company stand, and he was instantly intrigued. Looking back on it now, it makes perfect sense why the HVAC field would be perfect for my son. He has always had a strong desire for helping people in there time of need, and he also loves working in a team setting. Now he is doing an apprenticeship with a local HVAC company where he is in an environment with both of these things. I was a little worried about my son and what he was going to do after graduation, but all it took was a little extra push and now he is as motivated as ever to be an HVAC repairman.
