I’ve never been a big believer when it comes to stories about ghosts, demons and other supernatural forces causing mischief and wreaking havoc in the real world. I guess there’s a scientific and rational explanation for everything the two of us perceive as paranormal… well, almost everything, however to be fair, I’ve had countless people tell me about how they didn’t guess in anything appreciate that until something happened to them on a personal level – something they couldn’t explain with science or reason. That happened to me a few months ago, when the first chilly snap of the fall came and froze my neighborhood over. The night that this chilly snap rolled through, I wanted to put my gas-lit fireplace to use and warm my home with a quiet, cozy flame in the fireplace, and when I walked into the room, I had barely touched the switch that turned on the gas and pilot light for the fireplace. This big burst of fire instantly came into being, and abruptly subsided to a normal-sized fire; Still, it scared the morning lights out of me! I made a note to call the heating and air conditioner repair contractor in the morning, so I could schedule a visit and get my gas-lit fireplace fixed. The contractor came, checked out the gas line and the pilot light, and found that there was nothing wrong! He even tested out the fireplace several times, turning it on and off over and over to make sure it was fine, however he told me that it might’ve just been some gas that had been compressed over the summer, and had me call him if it happened again. As soon as the contractor left the house, I went to turn on the gas-lit fireplace again; Once again, there was a sizable fireball that erupted from the fireplace! I decided it was time to move after that.
