My sister Jane is an ardent church goer. Even in the worst of weather conditions, she never misses a Sunday church service. It is one of our family jokes that Jane was the only member present in church, right after the death of the preacher the night before!
Many years have passed since that happened, but Jane still never misses church. Her only problem that interferes with her time in her temple is how hot the building gets! They do have a central Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C proposal installed in the building, but it has been there for generations past and practically useless by now. A few weeks ago, Jane took it upon herself to start a fund to raise cash for a new Heating and A/C system for the church. Several members of the congregation were against the idea, opting for the installment of much cheaper window mounted AC units instead. The members on Jane’s side argued that having AC window units put in would deface their beautiful church and more importantly, a fine Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system would cool the church much better than any number of window units could.
The cost of installing a up-to-date Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan is not insignificant. However, I readily agree with Jane’s plans. AC window units do not exactly improve the look of a building, least of all a church! The debate goes on and the funds to update the old Heating, Ventilation, and A/C unit are still unavailable. Until this is resolved, my sister continues to equip herself with a hand-held motorized fan and several bottles of ice water before she heads out to church.
