I heard my son complaining because he had to drive the car without the air conditioning. My car air conditioner had broken in the middle of summer, and I hadn’t had it fixed yet. It was an old car that we used only if we needed a spare, and the air conditioning was not a priority. Not too long ago, my wife had the car out for groceries. She took the new car, and she left the old one home in case I needed to go somewhere. I would have used the truck, and her new car and my truck, both have air conditioning. My son wanted to go to his friends house, and I gave him the keys to the car. He started to whine because it didn’t have air conditioning. He said he wanted the truck, but I didn’t let anyone but my wife drive that truck. I told him if he wanted to go anyplace, he had to use the car. You would have thought he was a six year fighting over a toy in the store. He threw a temper tantrum. He even said that I should have made her take the old car, and then he could have used the old one. When he got done acting like a child, I asked for the keys back, and I said walking was free. I knew he thought it was horrible not to have air conditioning, but I really didn’t care. Did he really think I make my wife leave her car home for him, because it had air conditioning? I couldn’t believe his attitude, and I told him to walk. He started running down the driveway, but he was back five minutes later.
